Post-Production:The editing process: Theatre scene reversed

  • The sound in this ISHOWU is irrelevant to analysis as the sound on premiere pro cannot be captured, without rendering the whole trailer. We decided to not render the trailer until the end of the editing process.
  • One of the clips used for the theatre, we collectively decided that we wanted our trailer to apply a circular structure. This means that the trailer will have an opening sequence where our actor places his fingers on the keyboard. When Dan places his fingers on the keyboard, the  piano soundtrack begins. Throughout the trailer, the piano soundtrack portrays his personal emotions which compliment the scenes. When the piano soundtrack begins, the scenes are flashbacks from Dan's personal experiences. Therefore, we agreed that the last footage will be ending with the compositions end. The idea also keeps the ambigious ending of whether his audition was successful. The ambigious ending and the climatic teaser clips shown will be what makes up the film's narrative and unique selling point.
  • What we have done to this frame, is double click the visual one layer and pick the reverse option. The reason why we did that, is that the original clip has our actor putting his fingers on the piano. What we wanted to do was use the same footage but show him ending the composition piece so we reversed the clip.
  • The reason why we didn't choose to retake the scene was because of group time constraints.
