A connotative use of preparation is presented through body language as Robert pulls in his suit jacket. During our production/ filming, we have also used a lot of over the shoulder shot so we thought that we should change the cinematography angle. This side wide shot, allows the audience to see more features within the frame that wouldn't be seen in a head over the shoulder shot such as his suit.
Clip six:
A lot of static is being picked up so when editing, I will most likely make this clip in audible. Then I will possibly add footstep sound effects.
- We recorded quick takes of our main actor progressing towards the keyboard.
- Each time, the frame would be tighter.
- We did this because when in editing process, we are going to make the clips into an action match shot by using three footages and organising them into a series of jump cuts.
- We've included props of a keyboard and a music sheet stand which contributes towards creating the auditions mise-en-scene.
- The aim of the take, is to have the main character Dan, enter his audition showing slight confidence and showing he's slightly nervous. He takes his seat at the piano, walking in, in silent. The piano soundtrack does not start until his fingertips touch the keyboard.
- I will possibly use a non-diegetic heartbeat to create the sense of tension for the character.
- However, I may also record footsteps and increase the sound so that his feet echoes on the ground. The idea showing he breaks the silence as he breaks the calmness which develops into a sound scape.
