Previously, I have blogged a production logo:
However, we collectively agreed that we didn't like the colour and the format so we decided to change it...
The first step was to isolate the key from the other layers. What I did was double click the layer and played around with the drop shadow and outer glow in terms of width. I then used the paint bucket tool to fill in the key handle area with a off dark blue/grey colour.
I added a layer and used the paint bucket tool to create the blue background. Then I had to make sure the key layer was above the background so that the key was visible.
I made visible the horizontal text tool layer. Then I enlarged the typography so that the productions name was more visible. The name and the key logo will help develop brand awareness. Using the colour picker tool, I made sure that the drop shadow grey layer is the same colour as the 'key productions' typography to create consistency. The reason why these colours where chosen is because the clear colour scheme is replicated within the trailer, magazine front cover and poster prints.
Finally, I added another drop shadow layer to make a painted effect which makes the key look more 3D on the photoshop document.
