Post-Production: Possible film poster main image (1/3)
- For my film poster print, I have considered various aspects of mise-en-scene and cinematography:
- The first aspect I have considered was setting. The scene that I want to advertise captures the band stand scene. The setting shows a natural setting which adheres to the social realism genre working class setting aspect.
- Considering cinematography, I have taken a wide shot photograph using a DSLR camera. The shot type will allow me too add other print poster features on the background.
- I have considered body language that has relaxed characteristics to show his comfort within the scene that is a place he and his father shared.
- Props used: note from father
- To show the character Dan has a friend, Robert brought along his pet dog who stared in a few scenes.
- Clothing: he is wearing casual clothing which compliments the social realism genre as he comes from a working class background.
- Facial expression: I wasn't sure if I wanted to have my actor portraying emotions of upset or happiness so I have taken photographs of both. The reason I still have not decided is that in the trailer, the character Dan is mainly upset but within this scene he experiences happiness, sadness and anger which represent his conflict confusion off how to react to reading his fathers letter.
- I may be manipulating the image, using photoshop software, to blur out the background which draws attention to the main character.
- The problem with certain photographs is that certain images are pixalated and out of focus so they would not be able to be used for my poster print.

- I have considered mise-en-scene and cinematography:
- I have taken a photograph using an extreme wide shot so that I will be able to add poster print features onto my main image.
- Adhering to social realism genre, I have used a conventional independent scene area to use as my setting which represents social class of my main character being a working class background.
- I have included adding Roberts pet dog Jenson to show that he has a companion that he is comfortable with which presents a sense of character within poster print advertisement.
- I have considered facial expressions where the actor Robert wears a brooding facial expression to show his glum nature which reflects his attitude within the film trailer.
