Pre-production photography: Mise-en-scene (4/4) Make up

• Considering representations of ethnicity and age, the female actors (including the extras) will wear simple makeup which is conventional of the social realism genre. 
• The type of makeup they will wear will depend on what compliments skin tones. 
• The reason why our main actor (Robert) will not be wearing makeup, is to adhere to the social realism genre as conventionally male actors do not wear makeup. 
• The only reason makeup may be used, on the main character, is to create a tired effect using eyeshadow.
